STUDIO LXIV & ETHICA HERITAGE PRESENT

DRAWING WITH PIRANESI

IN PAESTUM

JULY 8-15 OR JULY 15-20TH

This summer course is structured around the tradition of observation. Learn new ways of seeing architectural elements and recording in a sketchbook while sitting in the magnificent archaeological park of Paestum, Italy. A class for both beginners and those with more experience!

Reserve your trip

The class will teach perspective drawing techniques and individual expression methods with pencil, paint, and ink. These are tools that both artists and architects have used since the Renaissance. Expand your visual knowledge for both fun and future design artistic endeavors!

The program includes an introduction to onsite field drawing techniques to draw the Paestum Temples as a way to understand classical and traditional design.

We draw among the temples as we study the landscape, and with extended drawing time, we share observations before breaking for a delicious local lunch. We plan daily excursions during the afternoon to see the area’s archaeological sites, architecture, and artisan workshops and sample delicious local food. We will have time for wellness, exercise, yoga, or swimming. We have special dinner parties most evenings at local venues. Also, there are exceptional local Michelin-star restaurants (extra) if the group is interested! Our drawing sessions will include an artist professor, architect, and historians for the afternoon lectures and excursions.
